AI readiness assessment

Find out how ready your people are for AI

Everyone at your firm answers a short, private survey. We turn their answers into a clear report, then sit with your leadership to debrief.

Every person at the firm, placed by how much they want to use AI and how well they use it today. No names, no teams. The four groups are explained further down.

An assessment about people first

Most firms spend on AI tools without ever measuring whether their people are ready to use them. Licenses sit unused, and nobody can say why.

This assessment starts with the people. It measures whether they want to use AI, how well they use it today, whether the firm gives them room to, and whether anyone is using it to do new kinds of work. Tools come into it only as part of that picture.

The four measures

Each measure is scored from 0 to 100, and every score shows how many answers it's based on. The dashed line marks the middle answer. Scores below use sample data.

Will

Do people want to use AI? How often they seek it out on their own, how they feel about it, and how much their concerns hold them back.

58Established

Skill

Tested, not self-rated

How well do they use it now? Knowledge questions, real situations, and the prompt people would actually type, graded against a written standard.

56Established

Opportunity

Does the firm let them? Access and time, a manager who uses AI, a team that talks openly about it, and clear rules.

71Established

Expansion

Is anyone using AI to do new kinds of work, not just the same work faster?

27Emerging

Will and skill together

Where will and skill cross at the middle makes four groups. They tell you where training lands fastest, who can teach others, and where a conversation will do more than a course. They're for planning support, not for labeling anyone.

By team

Sample chart of team averages by skill and will, with the whole firm for comparison. IntakeCase managementLitigationOperationsWhole firm00252550507575100100Skill (tested) Will

Each diamond is a team at its average. We only show a team when at least 5 of its people answered. In this sample, Accounting had 3, so it's counted in the whole firm's mark instead.

The four groups

Willing and able15 of 34

Already using AI well and wanting more. Your teachers and your pilot group.

Willing, not yet able8 of 34

Keen and inexperienced. Training lands best here, and fastest.

Able, holding back6 of 34

Know how, choose not to. Usually a concern rather than a skills gap. Worth a conversation, not a course.

Neither yet5 of 34

Check the opportunity measure first. Where the firm is holding people back, fix that and measure again before drawing a conclusion.

Find your AI champions and enablers

AI champions

The people ready to try new ways of working and push them forward. The report shows how many you have and where they sit, so you know who to start a pilot with.

AI enablers

The people others already go to for help. Everyone names the colleagues they see as real AI users, which shows who will bring the rest of the firm along.

How it works

You decide who takes part. We run the survey, build the report, and review it before you see a single number.

Set it up in one sitting

Upload your staff list and pick a due date. We give you ready-to-send messages so your team knows the survey is coming.

Your team answers

Each person gets a private link. Answers save as they go, so people can stop and come back.

We review the results

A consultant checks the responses and every written-answer grade before anything is released.

Report and debrief

You get the report, and we sit with your leadership to debrief.

Using Claude, ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot? You can also share your firm's usage report from any of the three, and your consultant will use it alongside the survey answers.

Private, and never a performance rating

Your firm sees who has finished the survey, never what anyone said. Results only appear for groups of 5 or more people, so no figure can be traced back to a person. Leaders answer their own set of questions and are told before they start that their names go with those answers.

None of this rates anyone's performance. It shows where to put training and support, not who is good at their job.

Every report also covers who people learn from, what's holding them back, where they want help, and how every number was worked out.
